The Cabin Process
We work to ensure that purchasing a plot and cabin at Raudnes is a simple and transparent process. Below you can see the different steps involved on the way to your new cabin at Raudnes.
1. Purchase confirmation
Once the purchase confirmation is signed, you as a customer are secured the cabin and plot in question. The plot is paid directly to the real estate agent, normally within 30 days after signing the cabin contract. Payment for the cabin is made according to progress. Purchase confirmation is often entered into at a viewing, or it can be sent by email or as an image afterwards.
2. Contract and construction meeting
The contract and construction meeting is carried out with the contractor for the cabin. You then go through all the details specifically and make the choices that are relevant for your cabin type. A Norwegian standard contract is used (building form 3425).
3. Construction
The contractor holds the necessary insurances and provides a 10% bank guarantee during the construction period. This is an extra assurance that the cabin will be built as agreed. The Housing Construction Act applies to the construction of the cabin. Invoicing takes place in line with construction progress. The construction manager oversees everything during the construction period so that you as a customer don’t need to think about anything during this time.
4. Handover
When the cabin is ready, you’ll get the keys in hand. You will also receive a completion certificate from the municipality, which is necessary to be able to use the cabin. At the handover itself, you go through the cabin thoroughly together with the contractor. This is done to quality-assure that the cabin is in accordance with the agreement. A handover protocol is signed. A 5% bank guarantee is provided for 5 years after the handover. This is an extra assurance against any faults or defects.
5. 1-year inspection
One year after handover, both parties can call for an inspection of the cabin to check that it is as it should be. The 5% bank guarantee will still apply for another four years. This is an extra assurance against any faults or defects.
